Lottery-Based Green Cards
Diversity Visa (Green Card Lottery) Program Overview
The Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program, commonly known as the Green Card Lottery, is an annual initiative by the U.S. Department of State that provides up to 55,000 immigrant visas each year. These visas are awarded to individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States, promoting diversity within the immigrant population.
