U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Hosts Informative Sessions

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is conducting several events to educate the public about the naturalization process and provide guidance for employers regarding immigration-related matters. These events aim to assist individuals seeking U.S. citizenship and employers navigating immigration laws and regulations.

USCIS is hosting the following naturalization information sessions in Houston, Texas:

1. Harris County Public Library Session: This in-person event will include a presentation on the naturalization process, followed by a brief question-and-answer session.

2. Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) Session: This session will feature a translator and provide an overview of the naturalization process, catering to the Burmese American community.

3. Wesley Community Center Session: In addition to covering the naturalization process, this event will include a video on creating and using an online USCIS account, concluding with a question-and-answer session.

USCIS is also offering webinars for employers, covering topics such as Form I-9 requirements, acceptable documents, and an overview of E-Verify, the electronic employment eligibility verification system. These webinars are eligible for professional development credits and provide valuable insights into complying with immigration laws and regulations for hiring and employment purposes.

By participating in these events, individuals can gain a better understanding of the naturalization process, while employers can stay informed about their legal obligations and best practices when hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
